Welcome to the 1st African Energy Efficiency Conference and Pre-Conference Trainings organized by the African Energy Commission (AFREC), this inaugural event will take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 8–11 December 2025.

The conference, themed “Advancing Africa’s Energy Efficiency Agenda through Strategic Partnerships”, will bring together policymakers, technical experts, development partners, and private sector leaders to accelerate the implementation of the African Energy Efficiency Strategy and Action Plan (AfEES) and launch the African Energy Efficiency Alliance.

The event begins with pre-conference trainings on 8–9 December 2025, focusing on energy efficiency in buildings, industry, appliances, power systems, transport, clean cooking, agriculture, and policy implementation. 

The main conference (10–11 December 2025) will feature high-level dialogues, knowledge sharing, technology showcases, and investment mobilization to drive energy efficiency across Africa.
