After a first part of his career in the local public sector in France, and in particular at the Municipality of Lyon, where he was CFO and then Deputy Director General, he joined Agence française de développement (AFD) in October 2015, as a senior expert within the Urban Development Department, in charge of local governments financing and support to decentralization processes. He has managed decentralization reinforcement programs in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, as well as direct funding and technical assistance programs for local governments, particularly in French overseas, Africa and Latin America.
From 2019 to 2023 he was AFD Country Director for Angola, and since September 2023, he is AFD Country Director for Ethiopia and representative to the African Union.
