Dr Zwanani Titus Mathe is the Chief Executive Officer of the South African National Energy Development Institute (SANEDI). A passionate advocate for Africa’s sustainable development, he possesses extensive expertise in diverse energy sources, technologies, and their practical applications. With over 25 years of combined industrial and academic experience, including eight years at executive management level, Dr Mathe is leading SANEDI’s strategic repositioning to enhance its contribution to South Africa’s energy security and transition.
He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, a Master’s in Business Leadership from UNISA, and a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Howard University, USA. A registered Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa, he is affiliated with SAICHE, SAIMM, and is a Fellow of the South African Academy of Engineering. Dr Mathe also serves on various academic advisory boards and professional councils, promoting engineering excellence and innovation.
